Frequently Asked Questions
The "Barter Request" is a ONE TIME request between users to prevent unfair ratings. The idea is that TeachBug has performed it's function by having two users contact and barter. Once they contact each other, there is no reason for them to do another "Barter Request" with that specific user. It seems a gratuitous rule for TeachBug to make users barter through TeachBug again after the first time. Once you've contacted each other... that's it, YOU set the rules... not TeachBug.
Simply read the sentence.
I am a person who can provide a skill/service in the field of: (look for a category and a subcategory)
and I need someone in the field of: (look for a category and a subcategory) in (Region) and click "SEARCH"
The Subcategory is actually your skill (ie. fix guitars, play basic guitars, advanced guitar theory, build guitars, only play acoustic guitars, etc... these skills would all fall under the category "GUITARS"). The detailed description of your skills will be mentioned in your user Profile.
The beta phase of program development is like a testing phase where real users can evaluate the functionality of the program (or website, in this case) and report any bugs, as well as make suggestions for improvement. For more information on what "beta" means in this context please visit Wikipedia's Beta page.
TeachBug is still in it's development stages, and we encourage users to give us their opinions on the site, especially the categories. Send us suggestions on new categories and we will put them up. Enjoy your day!
TeachBug has a matching system for barter but users should not use the site only for this. TeachBug is a skill searching website. As TeachBug grows it will be interesting to see how many different skills people have to offer. ie. someone looking to hire, looking for a service to pay, or just being curious. The fun will be in looking up people with similar skills or finding skills that you'd like.
TeachBug invites any person or business to make a profile. But remember to be detailed on exactly what the company has accomplished and mastered. What sets you apart from the rest? Are you willing to barter your services or products? Are you willing to offer your services for free? Etc. Be creative and most importantly be FAIR.
TeachBug wants you to be as creative as you are. If you believe in your talent, then show it off with detailed explanations, links to pictures, links to videos, etc. explain exactly what you can offer and what you wish to learn or get in return. Some people might just want to help without asking for anything in return. Put whatever you want. Just make sure you respect the site.
Public places are always risky and websites are no exception. TeachBug has a rating system where both parties must accept a barter in order to leave comments. Unsure users can base their decision off the comments left by previous users. If you barter and decide to meet, bring a friend, meet somewhere you feel safe, or find out more info on this person. Be safe and you will enjoy TeachBug.

TeachBug is simply putting you and others together. Users have full control of the barter. Users decide between compensations and how the trade will be managed. It could be an even swap, maybe one person gives more than the other, or someone just wants to hire you because they think you're awesome. Users control the condition of the trade.
We are a growing community actively working to enrich one another's lives through the free exchange of talent, information, and wisdom. TeachBug is here to simply display your talents which for most of us never get the recognition we deserve. Now the whole world can see what we are capable of. We can provide our services and talents to each other by trading, charging, donating, working, etc.
TeachBug is not making any money charging users. It is funded by people who believe the internet should be free for everyone. If we begin to run low on funds, we will utilize extremely subtle advertising. We think advertising is as annoying as you do, so we'll make sure not to bother you.
TeachBug is absolutely FREE and we will never charge our users. Enjoy the site and help it grow.
